LFS sells salt water at $1 a gallon. But the 5 gallon jugs are $13 each. not including the water. Would cost me $108 just for water and containers. Plus $10 a month in water changes. 50 cents a gallon on water evaporation. Just seems cheaper to buy a RODI system. And none of that factors the cost of driving to the LPS. Which cost more every week it seems. And another question. Salt recommendations. What brand? Link to comment

AZDesertRat Posted August 12, 2012 Share Posted August 12, 2012 Both are good choices. Right now though it is hard to beat the Spectraure refurb systems for only $128. Add a handheld TDS meter, I am not a fan of inline meters for several reasons, for $20-$25 and you have a killer reef quality RO/DI system. You can't go wrong with either vendor though. rafastank727 Posted August 12, 2012 Share Posted August 12, 2012 I have a brs 75g plus system got it for $180. Has everything you need for making water. Ie, pressure gauge,tds meter, and more. For salt I will recommend reef crystals. its easy to find and low price. Link to comment
