Tinpanva Posted August 9, 2012 Share Posted August 9, 2012 I have the Aquaticlife 115 skimmer set up on my 29 gal Biocube and now that its broke in [has nasty film in neck] its working very well. I've seen several references to people cleaning their skimmer. Should this be done at regular intervals? I have a dark build up on mine but I just dump it daily and give it a quick rinse. What's the correct procedure? If I clean it too good, won't that start the break in all over again? Link to comment
seabass Posted August 9, 2012 Share Posted August 9, 2012 "Broken in" refers to removal of the oils used in manufacturing and handling. It should really be cleaned daily, but I don't think most of us do it every day. Cleaning involves rinsing and wiping off the collection cup and neck. Link to comment
