Why won't my BioCube 10k light turn on?

Hi,

 

Anyone have any ideas why my Biocube 8 10k would suddenly stop working.

 

Fan works. 10k doesn't light. No dark spots to indicate burn out.

 

Tried switching the ballasts, still doesn't work.

 

Tried switching bulbs with the actinic in the 10k socket - the actinic fires up very dimly not 100%

 

Something wrong with the hood?

 

Curious to know what you Biocube owners have experienced.

I have never experienced it, although im sure if you contact the company they will fix it for free.

Just expect 1o days before you receive a email

there is a cap on the bulb socket connector- I believe it is used to help the bulb start up. it may have gone bad.

 

I just did LEDs in my biocube 8 and have a hood bulb socket just laying here if you wanted to try a new socket. just cover shipping cost and its yours...

Those ballasts go out occasionally. I think i had that problem. Call oceanic. Their CS was awesome IME
