NanoNewb2011 Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 Just picked up a new shipment of coral this morning and found this guy in there, its about an inch from one end to the other and it looks like a brittle or serpent star Should i chuck it out or throw it in the tank?
NanoNewb2011 Posted July 31, 2012 Author Posted July 31, 2012 Keep it. No reason to throw it out. So its either one of those types of stars and its safe?
patback Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 Yes. The only ones that aren't safe are the large green serpents. They've been known to catch small fish.
TeflonTomDosh Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 mini brittle man, good to have. keep it. you'll see its arms waving out of your LR in the future when you feed your tank. pretty sweet.
Atela Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 Not only will they wave their arms out at feeding time, you can actually spot feed them and they will grab up the food and munch away. It's fun to watch!
