I also have a 9 watt DIY fixture with 3 cree LEDs, and the DIY fixture looks nearly twice as bright. Any thoughts? Are the cree LEDs that much better? Link to comment

Are the cree LEDs that much better? most definitely. the ecopico chips are 1w leds, and 3x 1w leds arent as bright as 1x 3w led, not in this respect anyway. theres a bit more to it, but thats the jist of it in this situation.
