dead coral

i found a skeleton in the ocean that washed up on shore and it was a goofy looking rock with a bunch of holes (nothing from a worm) and i dried it out and brought it home. i wanted to put it in my tank so right now im curing it. is it possible that any of the living polyps could be regenerated?
