Increase light - need transition?

I currently have a 10 gallon tank that's been running fine for about 8 months. Occupants include mushrooms, zoos, goniopora (i know i know), open brain, calustrea and what I think is a fungia (hitch-hiker on some rock I bought) an orchid dottyback, scott's damsel, citroen goby, assorted snails and blue-leg hermits. I currently use a CoraLife 28 wattt fixture (50/50) and a 13 watt 7600K AZOO clip-on (with a photoperiod of about 10.5 hours). I was considering upgrading the light to either 56 or 64 watts.

Do you think it would be beneficial to do so?

If I do increase the light, do I need to acclimate the corals to a new photoperiod to avoid shocking them?

Suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks fellow nano-reefers.

More light is usually beneficial no matter what.

Its not that large of an increase, but you will want to either

1. move the canopy up and gradually move it back down

2. place layers of window screen between lights and water

or

3. decrease photoperiod and gradually work back up.

I suggest going to a 5 or 6 hour photoperiod and bumping it up and hour every 3 or 4 days.
