Benny, my false clown' is getting dark spots under his skin. He is eatting great and is very active. These spots are on his orange part only. No spots on the outside. What do you think.

Far as I know...I believe it to be a genetic defect due to massive farm reproduction for the pet trade. This is due to a lack of genetic diversity.

Benny is not hosting in anything, but I do have a shrimp who "plays" with him during feeding. I have wondered about the shrimps "tentacles".

My tiny litle false clown has these black spots that just appeared about a week ago as well. :(

I have a friend that has a pair of clowns that have just developed these black spots too.

Neither are being stung or hosting to anything so I don't think that's the reason.

All of them looked good for about 2-3 weeks then the black spots appeared out of nowhere. :|

I have never seen these type of black spots before.

Do they go away after awhile?

:(
