dude
Hi, I'm new here... I recently got an anenome for my tank, when I put him in, he moved around a bit until he found a spot that he liked. The problem is that he settled right down on a patch of button polyps, I didn't want to risk moving him by force, so I jjust pointed the powerhead at him and turned it to full blast. He moved to a new spot after about a week, but the polyps look really bad, they are still alive because they contract when I touch them, but they are really small and don't have their color Are they going to recover? and is there anything I can do to help? tyoberg
Ah, you've learned a little something about anenomes. Excellent. They do get legs sometimes. They also have a tendency to get mangled in powerheads, so sponge prefilters should be a must on an anenome tank. Polyps are very rugged. They should bounce back. Don't worry if they close up for a couple days/weeks or even a month or two. Mine shut for over 2 months once and one day re-opened. Took a week or two to get all the color back, but they were fine!
