jollybluepunk
I don't have slime coming off my live rock (actually it's like dead coral base rock that is beginning to turn live) but I have something also wierd growing on it...it's like a gray mold...anybody know what this is? I noticed it before I did my water change and I wiped it off...then a couple days later I found it again a couple inches away from where I first saw it...hmmm.... Link to comment
Sahin
anthony812: the things you decribe sound very much like a few that I have. Do these slime like arms move about searchng for things? Some of mine come out of holes in rock or others seem to come out of some kind of calcium deposit structure. They look like kinda spider web strand slime tentacles? If so, then theres no need to worry, I havent ID them yet but I am pretty sure they are harmless. Link to comment
Sahin
Or you could be describing these; have a look at this link; http://www.reefs.org/hhfaq/pages/main_page...s/faq_rock3.htm Scroll down to Vermetid gastropod. These things release a spider web strand too. Have a look around this useful page anyway. You'll ID a lot of other critters in your tank from this. Good luck. Link to comment
