pulsing xenia question

I purchased a pulsing xenia last week and was wondering if the polyps are supposed to pulse "in synch"? I thought I read somewhere that if they pulse in a random or unorganized way , it is a sign of stress...( coudn't find an answer using "search". Thanks.

Pulsing behavior in xenia is still a mystery. Current thinking suggests that xenia will pulse as a response to improve respiration flowing over themselves, but even this hasn't been adequately proven.

Some colonies never pulse in one tank, only to start pulsing in a new tank at a random time and vice versa.

Pulsing behavior doesn't seem to harm the corals at all and only enhances xenia's appeal to aquarists. However, just because it's pulsing in a display tank at your LFS doesn't mean it will pulse in your own tank.
