Do corals actually use this lighting or is it mainly for out cosmetic purposes?

 

Would it benifet the corals to have 2x65 watt 6500K/10000K or 1 65watt 6500k and 1 65watt 03/Actinic?

yes, they use the blue end. chlorophyll uses red and blue. (A-type, i think)

 

some blue end light is also converted to red spectrum by some deeper water animals. so altho they technically use red spectrum they start with blue to feed the photosynthesizing chemicals within them (phycobilins?).
