typrboi
Is there any way i can purchase a regular ballast from home depot like a HO flourescent ballast and outfit it into a VHO lighting system for my aquarium. Link to comment
Von digity
Sure you can, but it might be cheaper and safer to just buy a workhorse 5 or 7 (depending on how many watts your looking for), from Petsupplyliquidator.com They don't label them on the webpage as workhorse ballasts, but I'm pretty sure they are, since I've ordered one from them before, and it was a workhorse. Make sure you get better endcaps, specially for high wattage VHO bulbs. HD doesn't sell them, DIY sites do though, try hellolights.com. *edit* I don't think Ive ever even seen a HD stock HO ballasts. In my area they have to be special ordered. Link to comment
Von digity
http://petsupplyliquidator.com/htm/aparts_...tballast.htm#b2 Disregard that they say "power compacts" on the web page. I'm pretty sure they are workhorses, they have just had the logo photo-shoped out for whatever reason. maybe someone else can chime in. Link to comment
