Well equipment for it pretty much evolved from various equipment and upgrades. It started out with 2-36watt PCs, a modified Skilter 250, 50w heater, rio90 circulation pump.

 

Later on I added the gravity-refugium and removed the Skilter. A mini-jet pumps water from the main tank to the refugium. The refugium had a 24w PC, then I later upgraded to a 65w LOA light which helped out the macro growth alot. Added a DIY kalk drip box.

 

My lighting for the main tank was then upgraded to a 175w MH lighting.

Denki, I see your corals colors are so much nicer in the second set of photos. Is that because of the extra actinic(32's to 55's) or because they are just getting nicer over time?

One more thing. Do you have 2x55 or 1x55 actinic pc and the same thing when you had the 36's?

Well depends on which one you are asking about, 10g or 15g.

 

10g:

2-36watt PCs (50/50)

 

15g:

June

1-175w Aqualine 10k bulb

1-36w actinic PC

 

July

1-175w Aqualine 10k bulb

1-55w actinic PC

 

I got the PCs mounted above the front of the tank at an angle, I felt it produced a better output. I will try to post pics of it when I post the August picture section this week.

Are you using the true actinic from hellolights or some other bulb?

I'm using coralife actinic PCs, I have yet to use the ulta actinics but the current coralife puts out a very blue tint.
