caseymou Posted April 12, 2004 Share Posted April 12, 2004 I have a 29 gal with 2x55 pc's now. I have been kicking around the idea of retro'ing a 70w DE MH bulb. Anyone tell me what I CAN'T keep under that kind of light. I don't know what the height of the 29 is off the top of my head. What is a 70w DE comparable to in SE MH lighting? Link to comment
Korbin Posted April 14, 2004 Share Posted April 14, 2004 DE compared to SE - I have no idea I'm using a 150 watt DE and I have the same depth as you. I feel like I have just enough light for clams at the bottom of the tank. Acro colors aren't quite as vibrant down there either. Clams should be OK if they're near the top. But I would be tentative in keeping a crocea or maxima. Be careful modding your light for a metal halide. Make postively sure you're not going to melt anything or start any fires. Those things get HOT! Link to comment
