ag1129
I need some advice as to which route I should go.... I have a 27 gallon reef tank that measures 18d x 20w x 20h.... I don't know what is the biggest bang for the buck and also if the par30 is suitable for my set up. Link to comment
andrewguilfoy
depends if you want a spotlight effect vs more distributed light.. Link to comment
C.I._Reefer
par 38 would be better option over par 30 imo, but both are gonna spotlight to some degree. I would go GU10 or aquastyles. Link to comment

asting
I'd get the aqua style kit for a better distribution of light. Link to comment
Trogdor447
I'd get the aqua style kit for a better distribution of light. Yup and you can adjust them how you like, put wider optics on the far corners to compensate as well (wont be as much par) but will help some Link to comment
ag1129
Alright thanks for your help, Are there a lot of visible wires with the aqua style LED? I want something that's more streamline cosmetically. Link to comment
B16Drag
Most DIY units will have visible wires running. But its all up to the DIY'er. Link to comment

A lot of people use heat shrinkwrap to clean it up, or use those corrugated plastic tubing with the cut down the middle to organize their wires. Link to comment
jessy
Would one par38 be sufficient enough for my tank? par38 is more powerful than par30 ,it's surely sufficient enough ! Link to comment
asting
par38 is more powerful than par30 ,it's surely sufficient enough ! For a 27gal tank? It depends on your stocking, and footprint/height of your tank, but I'd think a few would be necessary. Link to comment
