I don't recall the brand of bulb, but my brother is running 2 x 250W 10000K MH on his 75 gallon. NOTE: the tank is being converted to a freshwater planted tank. He just replaced the original ballasts (due to water damage from his reef days) with the Advance M57s from reefgeek.com. From what I can see from the pix that he took, the light does NOT look yellow.
