insipid
I currnetly have a 16g bowfront setup with a 96 watt powerquad, going to make the move to halide, not sure how much would be enough for it was looking at either a 70 or 150 DE setup, along with 2x32 actinics any advice on which size to go with. Not sure if the 150 would be an overkill on a 16. Link to comment
Korbin
welp, I have a 150 on a 15. For awhile I had a 150 and a 55 watt PC. Makes a difference if you plan to yuse 10K or 20K. A 20K will be 1/2 as bright as a 10K. I think a 10K alone on a 15 gallon is just right. (open top of course). So what it comes down too is: I'd either do 20K 150 watt 10K 150 watt or 10K 70 watt + 2x32 watt actinics Link to comment
insipid
What about heat issues, any major increase or did you need to use cooling? Link to comment
Korbin
I have a 15 gallon sump as well. If my apartment gets over 78 degrees, my tanks temp will start rising above 80. Usually about 82 or 83. A fan blowing from across the room solves that problem though. My light is 6 to 9 inches from the water. Link to comment
