Minor update:

Ordered the following items

30 lbs base rock

60 lbs of indo pacific (black and white) sand

2 maxi jet pro 400's (in circ mode capable of 500gph)

i've never used them in this fashion, but for 1/2 the price of a comparable koralia & 1/3 the price of a tunze, it's worth a try

300 watt eheim jager heater

coralife digital thermometer

I will try that, good thing I haven't ripped out that upper baffle yet. Also need to finish off the spray bar.

Well it's been about 10 days now. Here are the readings.

Temp 80.4*

sg 1.017

ammonia ~0.25ppm

nitrite not quite 0ppm, but not at the .25ppm mark yet.

nitrate 0ppm (YEP)

Not going to test again till next week. It's doing it's thing. Just to dam slowly.

Anyway, havent had time to put much thought or try anything to reduce the micro bubbles. Tuesday im gonna head on down to ACE & install a TEE in the return line. Kick some of the flow back to the intake chamber, also adding in 2 more tees for expansion (wish list includes a chiller, reactor & idk). Also gonna buy some Filter pad to wedge into my baffles. Might get around to making a spray bar, unlikely, as im happy with the 3/4" outlet.

If all else fails, i will try reversing the flow of the sump (instead of left to right, i will try right to left) Beyond that, A filter sock. If that doesnt work. Tear down the sump & try again.

Temp 78.0 (moved the heater to the sump & dialed it back a bit)

sg 1.017

ammonia 0.0ppm

nitrite 0.5ppm

nitrate 0.0ppm

And I ordered more rock

Lost a clown fish for unknown reasons. Carcass was not found. Parameters all normal (ammonia zero, trites & trates zero). Guessing the CUC had a tasty meal.

Refugium algae came in today.
