Want to replace my skimmer with refugium . Have a few questions

I have a red sea deluxe skimmer. I would like to replace with a fuge. questions that i have are

 

1. would a ac 200 work over my 12 gallon tank

 

2. Do you know if home depot sells a light that will work over it ? Where did you buy your light ?

 

3. Would this perform aswell as a skimmer ?

it all depends on your bioload. If its high I would recommend leaving the skimmer on with the fuge.

I bought a ac 300 with surface skimmer today to setup i cant wait to get the fuge going !

 

I also got 5 blue hermi crabs lol they are so comic. The one climbs to the top of the tallest rock and falls off , but he keep climbing back up

The surface skimmer attachment for the AC rocks, although the instructions suck and it takes a little ingenuity to set up the first time. If you have questions, feel free to post or PM me.

I have a Prizm that I turned into a deluxe, and I hung it off the back of my refuge. IMO it's not a great skimmer anyways so I'd run them together.
