my calcium is low

for some reason i cant get my calcium up to 425-450. any ideas? i supplement calcium every day. so whats wrong?

What is your Ph and Dkh? All 3 things are related and will affect each other. What is your calcium testing at? Do you have a lot of coralline in your tank?

Mg is also related to Calcium problems, check Mg and adjust accordingly, it is probably very low.

Before adding supplement calcium everyday, what is exactly your Ca level?

 

Also, do you use liquid or powder calcium? because if you use powder, you need to mix it with new fresh water.

 

Are you sure your test is good? What kind of test do you use?

i use salifert test kits and i use liquid calcium

What brand of salt do you use? If you use Instant Ocean, you are more likely to run into this problem...it only tests out to about 250 - 300 for Ca. If this is the case, consider switching to Oceanic's new salt or some other salt that is formulated specifically for reef tanks.

i also use kent marine pro Dkh buffer with the calcium

Mg tests are hard to come by, if you can get one pick one up, otherwise you are gonna be dosing all the time
