derekschwabe
what do you guys think about the coralife 50/50 florescent lights. Do they work well for the basic nano? Do they provide enough light needed for live rock to live well? what about coral? Link to comment
koolyce
There is your answer: http://www.chez.com/koolyce/nano/28-03-200...28-03-2004.html I have 60watts instead of the stock 24watts. The color of the coral are nicer and "brigther". Link to comment
Meloco14
It is very nice to have an actinic component in your lighting. I have heard that actinic bulbs tend to lose their intensity faster than whiter bulbs, so it is best to only use 50/50 bulbs when you are only using one bulb total. If you have two or more bulbs, it is better to get a combination of white (10,000k or so) bulbs and actinic bulbs. This way you can replace the actinic bulbs individually as they lose their intensity. 50/50's also tend to be more expensive than the solid color bulbs, so it will save you money this way too Link to comment
koolyce
Thanks, in fact the actinic is more for look because it's the 10 000k who will help your coral growing. Also the light is cheap to replace, so I will change it every year. Link to comment
