Large bubbles will cause a moderate amount of flow......I use battery powered air pump w/ course stones for water movement when I lose power.....works great!!!! What Ike is saying is also correct, because most of the current on a reef is lateral not vertical. Granted it's very random! The salt creep created by an air pump would be HELACIOUS!!!!
