set up for 96watt power quad

I just got my power quad setup and hooked it up and i just have a few questions

 

1. I set mine up with the legs and i removed my glass canopy which i used with my 32x2 csl light is this ok pros and cons

 

2. My light comes with the 50/50 96w quad bulb but i was wondering being a light fiend how much more bright would it be with a power quad all 10k light and what are the pro's and cons. Don't get me wrong im happy with my new light but I want even more light now:P

I have one on my 13 gal custom tank. I painted the legs black to match my tank frame (I think it looks better). At first I went without the glass cover but was loosing so much water to evaporation that I added it back. I don't know about the 10000k bulb I still have the 50/50. I wanted just the opposite. I was wanting to go with straight Actinic, because I don't like the light color. My coralline is growing on the glass, but my LR doesn't seem to be getting any better (if anything it seems to be getting lighter).
