SaltyMist
I've heard it depends on what critters you are going to keep, those that burrow down into the sand can cause a landslide if your LR is on top of the sand and they burrow down underneath it. For those that dont keep burrowing critters I suppose you can keep it ontop of the sand. Personally I am only currently keeping about 1/4" to 1/2" of live sand in my 20H tank so it little matters if it's on the glass or ontop of the livesand since it can't move all that much. What do you plan to keep in the tank? Link to comment
Blinkgyrl2987
you can allow the rocks to touch the sides of the glass if thats what you like.. however be aware that you won't be able to reach those spots with an algae scaper.. and a whole bunch of brown stuff will formulate there... personally I like to be neat so i place my rocks so I can always just babrely slide by them with the mag float!..... but it is really up to you... just make sure that the rocks you place down first are sturdy and Are going to hold pretty still on the sand.. so you don't have a avalanche!..HTH Megan~` Link to comment
