depth of sand bed for Yasha Hase and shrimp?

How deep of a sand bed?.

 

Do you think if I made them a burrow out of pvc, they would use it?

I owned one for a month.I got him from Marine Depot. He was soooo small. What I did was put in a piece of PVC with a 45deg bend. I received the goby and the shrimp at the same time. First I introduced the shrimp by putting him in a clear glass covering the top until I reached the bottom of the tank. The slowly turned the glass over (this did not scare him and he just stayed in the glass. I put the glass over the opening of the PVC, after a while he just walked in. I the did the same process with the goby, It worked great. Sadly the lights went out one day during evening feeding and he never found his way back. He is either dead (most likley) or hiding (he was soo small I would never find him) Where are you planning on buying the goby?
