SLACkra
hi all i am thinking of setting up a reef. well the local hardwar store have these 48watt energy saver powercompact fluorecents that are 5000k. i would prefer 10000k but i think thats all they got. would corals like star polyp, mushrooms, xienia and cup corals ect grow under 5000k lighting? 1fish2fish
The general rule as I have seen it is a minimum of 6500 k for corals. At 5000k you will most likely end up with a ton of nuisance algae. Try these out. They are reasonably priced. http://www.1000bulbs.com/product.php?product=1086 Link to comment
