So i tryed looking up this befor i asked it.

 

When cycling a new tank .

do i want to have a cuc in the tanks?

should or wait if so wait for what?

Wait until the cycle is over. Then you start adding your clean up crew. Not during the cycle. The ammonia and nitrites and possibly high nitrates will most likely kill off your inverts and any livestock.

+1 , nothing more to add, other than nitrates should also be lower than 40ppm in addition to the tank being cycled, some animals need even lower nitrates.

John so would u recomend not getting both snails and hermits?

 

Or just let them do there things

They do clean, but I feel like there are better options though for most algae problems they tackle. However, most people feel like their entertainment value outweighs the cons. To each their own, empty shells will help reduce losses.
