do i want to have a cuc in the tanks?

Wait until the cycle is over. Then you start adding your clean up crew. Not during the cycle. The ammonia and nitrites and possibly high nitrates will most likely kill off your inverts and any livestock.

Zero. If there is hitch hickers on my live rock. I guess just wish them luck threw thr cycle

Depending on your LR, you might not even have a terrible cycle with high ammonia/nitrite levels. My first tank never did.

+1 , nothing more to add, other than nitrates should also be lower than 40ppm in addition to the tank being cycled, some animals need even lower nitrates.

yeah they wont eat coral, no hermits really do, but they may attack snails for shells. All hermits do that.

They do clean, but I feel like there are better options though for most algae problems they tackle. However, most people feel like their entertainment value outweighs the cons. To each their own, empty shells will help reduce losses.
