halmotors
Alright, I've kept a 10gal nano-reef for about a year or so now, and I'm ready to set up a second tank...I picked up a Marineland Eclipse System 6 on clearance at an LFS, and after a sound inspection on my part, it seems ready for reefing. Anyone ever use one of these tanks for nano-reefs? Have you noticed any problems? I plan on retrofitting the hood with PCs asap, since the lone fluorescent bulb is obviously lacking...Other possible additions are a refugium made from a specimen cup, and maybe a ghetto protein skimmer, although that's still up for decision. Corals are about all that's going into this tank, as well as a few hermits and other small inverts...no fish, not even a single damsel (yes, I hear the cries of blasphemy already...lol). Other typical nano-reef aspects apply, ie...live sand and live rock. Any input would be greatly appreciated. -Halmotors Link to comment
seabass
Fish are optional. Your tank will probably be better off without them. Without fish, a refugium and skimmer will be even less necessary. Link to comment
