AReeferIsExpensive
im curious how everyone handles their own fuge b4 i start buying stuff..... so lets just role-play for a minute- Lets say you have a refugium area that is running with just water right now and you want to turn it into a nice little fuge....for algae, pods, mangroves, ben. bacterias...whatever u want~ you are about to place a fairly large order online b/c you rather get everything at once. What would you buy?? sort of a, "refuge shopping list" if you will... Link to comment

USFnano
I'd go with live sand(maybe 2-3") or sand with ISPF's live sand activator, etc. Maybe a couple lbs. of live rock rubble, and whatever macro you want(probably whatever I can get from local reefers). *Basically what I've done/doing with mine Link to comment
theDude
In the spirt of roleplaying why not just make a list and let the dice decide. Link to comment
Reefer_Buddha
chaeto, gracillaria, transfer some live sand from your tank or just get what usfnano said. Dont really need a lot back there, just the macro lr and ls. Link to comment
Cellenzweig
I don't know if you can get them in the US, but there is a company in Canada called Reef Crew. They sell many different types of live food (phyto, rotifers, etc...) I plan on ordering a bottle of Copepods from them to put in my fuge. That should start a good pod cycle. Other than that, I just have some LS, some LR rubble and some chaetomorpha. Link to comment
