privitor Posted June 19, 2011 Share Posted June 19, 2011 I bought a new piece of live rock a few months ago and recently the redish purple plant has started growing on it. I did some research and i think it dragons breath growing from my rock, and getting big!!! Is this an ok plant for my BC or should i get rid of it asap? Link to comment

It looks like some sort of halymenia though ive spent some time on algeabase and i cant put my finger on it you can see if theyll id it if you thought it may take a microscope. could be halymenia floresia but i can be completely wrong too. how fast does it grow? it looks like its taking up a bit of real estate in your tank is it hard to trim back or hard to control? i think it looks cool and so long as you can keep it in check id keep it , maybe take to the lfs for credit or trade some out.
