BKtomodachi
I just ordered my 9" Coralife mini ballast through the lfs, and it comes in on wednesday. It has 9w actinic and 9w daylight. This will be placed over a 5 gallon bowfront. Does anyone have anyexperience with these? It comes with reflector, etc. Anyone know what the limits would be to what I could grow with those? KidK9
I have the same setup over my 7 gallon minibow, but have only had it on for a week, as my tank is cycling. I would also like advice on this. Link to comment
Reefer_Buddha
hate to tell you this after you bought something but i, personally, would go for more light. Thats only 18w on a 5g. Of course it also depends on what you plan to keep in there. Id be around 30-35w myself. Link to comment
KidK9
What if I put another one on there? That would give 4 9W bulbs. Would that work if I was just trying to keep live rock and soft corals?? Link to comment
Reefer_Buddha
ya should do ok for softies, shrooms, zoos etc. Link to comment
BKtomodachi
Also there is the 12" 8w 50/50 bulb that I put in the stock hood. So that adds up to 26 watts of 50/50 light altogether. Is that better? Link to comment
KidK9
Damn, my hood is a 15". Can I find any light to go in that thing?? Link to comment
BKtomodachi
I see 15" bulbs a lot more that 12"!! I had to search far and wide for a 12" 50/50, believe you me! Link to comment
maroonclown
It is cheaper just to DIY a multiple 13 watt system, why don't you just do that? Link to comment
KidK9
Cuz I'm lazy as all hell. Gerard the Fish said he can make 70W MH and ship them. He's asking a nice price. Can I do just that light over my 7 gallon minibow anybody? Link to comment
