ross76053
Quick question for anyone - I've noticed reefers have used what they call "Ford Blue" paint for the back of their tanks. Where can I get this paint?....besides the obvious "at Ford". Guess it's sort of like the question, "who's buried in Grant's tomb?". Also, how is this paint applied? Thanks, Ross Link to comment
Guy
If I remember correctly, the ford blue is enamel for painting the engine. (ford used dark blue on their engine blocks) You can get that at a pep boys or similar type place. An automotive paint store will have it as well. If you want a lighter blue, go with the pontiac blue paint. That is a bit lighter in color. Any good enamel will do, but the ford blue is a nice shade Guy Link to comment
MKramer
Except Ford Blue is a protected trademark, so what you find at Pep Boys is a near likeness. Link to comment
Greg333
I get the paint at Auto Zone. Link to comment
ross76053
Found it at Pep Boys and bought "Ford Blue #205" (they also have a darker blue). Question - do any of you use black for the back of your tanks? Ross Link to comment
stephen
I have a black coat on mine, and the colors of corals and fish show up really well. Blues are nice also. Its a personal preference thing Link to comment
NaNO ReeFiN
The back of my tank is black and I love it. The only two colors I would use on the back wall of my tank are black and a dark blue. Link to comment
