Steve973 Posted March 12, 2004 Share Posted March 12, 2004 I've been reading a bit about Icecap ballasts, and they sound fantastic! Currently, I have a Via Aqua 18 with stock lighting. I've heard that the ballasts are terrible, so one day (maybe soon) I'd like to upgrade. I hear that for two bulbs, the 430 ballast would be the one to go with. Now, here's where my questions come in. There are 2x36 watt PC bulbs in there now, and the guy at Icecap tells me that the ballast will drive them. Will they have increased intensity, and if so, how much? Secondly, will I be able to put higher-wattage bulbs in? The ballast is rated at 330 W max, so I'm wondering how I go about putting, let's say, 150 watts in there. If any of you aren't familiar with the via aqua 18, the light fixture is about 20 inches long, and wide enough to comfortably hold the 2 pc bulbs. Thanks in advance! Link to comment
