samksy1
I am deciding on which light to take. Wondering if this would be good for a 10g simple reef. Would the lighting be enough. Anyone have any experience or suggestion for this light? http://thatpetplace.com/MainPro/itemdy00.a...1=F52+0047+0869 Two lamps are included: one 9 watt 03 actinic blue and one 9 watt 10,000k daylight. This combination of lamps will enhance both color and clarity in your aquarium and provide your aquarium's inhabitants with the proper light required for essential biochemical reactions. Tempest
Lighting needs depends on what you plan on stocking. IMO that the light is insufficient for most corals . In addition, the fixture would barely cover half of the tank leaving a lot of real estate poorly lit. You'd really need to buy 2 of those things for a 10 gallon tank. Try a Coralife compact fluorescent striplight or a CSL moonlight fixture. More money, but worth it. Link to comment
Reefmaniac
You would only have 2 watts per gallon. One rule of thumb to use is at LEAST 3 watts per gallon, preferably more. You might want to try a DIY 70 watt MH. Link to comment

Reefmaniac
Champion lighting is my choice. They have everything you need and will gladly help you pick the proper lighting for your tank (from PC, VHO and MH or any combo). Link to comment
Isaka
That light would be good for a 2.5 gallon, but for a 10g you should look into the power quad 96w, the 80w CSL, 75/150 MH, or a DIY curly que/ book worm type combo if you want to save money. Link to comment
