handzoff Posted March 10, 2004 Share Posted March 10, 2004 Hey I am in the process of getting together the equipment for my first nano if you all could comment on my equipment Ideas it would be appreciated. 5.5 AGA tank Custom hood and base made by yours truly 2 x 20 watt coralife screw in PC 50/50 lamps AC 200 no media w/ tronic 50 w heater angled inside Micro jet 450 Powerhead in rear corner 10 lbs live sand 6 ish lbs of live rock How does this sound to start? DSBs aren't necessary, as new research has shown that the anaerobic filtration you are looking for (for removal of nitrates) occurs in the first inch or so of sand. DSBs end up looking really ugly, anyway, what with all the crap that gets trapped in them. Link to comment
