lazaah
Got this for my Fuge, I think it is Red Dictyota, can anyone confirm this? Ive got it under a 23w 6500k CFL at about 6" through the lid of my aquaclear, too much light or not enough? ive noticed a bit of it turning bright orange after three days of having it in the tank. Cheers for any growing adivce! Link to comment
IamTomm
That stuff is a a$$ hole. It gets on everything and chokes it out. A perioxide dip kills it. Link to comment
lazaah
a peroxide dip? My local runs it in their filter and massive tank and its definatly not running rampant... Link to comment
johnmaloney
doesnt look like dictyota, dictyota is a brown algae that looks like a red. maybe i am seeing it wrong? Link to comment

Amphiprion1
There is a Gracilaria species that has similar ramose growth patterns and is red. All Dictyota that I've ever seen has been brown or yellow--some with a bluish/greenish fluorescence. Link to comment
