pulpsmack Posted June 24, 2002 Share Posted June 24, 2002 for a rectangle you just do L x W x H (in inches) for your total volume of cubic inches. divide the total by 231 (as there are 231 cubic inches per gallon) and you get your tank measurement in gallons. i.e. a tank measuring 24 x 16 x 12.5 = 4800 cubic inches. divide this by 231 and you see that you have a 20 gallon tank (technically 20.78 gallons, but you get the picture) Link to comment
