DK_Reef
I am looking into SeaClear Aquariums and was wondering what are some reviews/experiences from actual owners. (yes I read the other thread a few posts down) I know they are acrylic but I would also like some feedback on them. Primary questions on acrylic: - Exactly how easily does it scratch? will clothing touching it scratch it? will a grain of sand against the glass scratch it? will an acrylic safe algae scrubber scratch it over time no matter? - Seaclear claims its acrylic won't yellow over time, but is that true? - I also heard acrylic warps over time? Is that true for even modern acrylic aquariums? Thanks Link to comment

Is that true for even modern acrylic aquariums? Thanks I've got a 20 gallon Sea Clear acrylic aquarium. I was using it as a planted tank for a couple of years. Now, it's just sitting empty. I wouldn't say it scratches easy. I have some small scratches in it, but that's expected with any acrylic tank. So far, no yellowing, looks as clear as when I first got it. Also, I have not noticed any warping either. I'm very happy with the tank. Hope this helps, Link to comment
tinctorus
they scratch VERY EASY AND the sea clear ones use thin acrylic and tend to bow out after a few years... Link to comment
jetedawg
I've got a SeaClear 46 bowfront, so it bows... I've only had it a few months, but I use regular paper towels on it, as well as an acrylic algae scrubber, and I dont' have any scratches yet. Link to comment
DansTundra
I got a 50gal that I use for my fresh water tank for over a year. I couldn't be happier. All acrylic tanks will scratch. You just need to be careful. Link to comment
