joebadd
Just set up my nano last week. Today I noticed a hitchhiker of some sort. It lives under the live rock, so no picture is available. It is round in shape. The portion I could see was about four inches long. It has the color and texture of a cigar. It is as big around as my pinkie finger. It doesn't seem to be light sensitive. I know this is a bit vague, but it is the best I can do. Any theories are welcome. LOL:D Link to comment
birdman204
pictures are welcome as well. They should come out sometime. Sounds like some sort of slug / cucumber, but they usually don't make it on most LR. Link to comment
tinyreef
it's a cuban cigar smuggled in with the rock. chiton? they're flatter tho and yucky looking. Link to comment
joebadd
One could only wish it was a cuban cigar! LOL I did a quick search on chitons. Not even close. This guy is perfectly round. Also leathery. Thank you for the guess. It's hard to do a search when you don't have a clue where to start. So at least you gave me a start!! Link to comment
Tempest
Maybe a cucumber? Does it move? If not it might be a sponge? Reeeally hard to say from your description. Link to comment
joebadd
Yep it moves. I know that it's a vague description, but that is all I can see. Curiosity got the better of me. I tried lifting the live rock to get a better view and maybe a picture, but zoom he was gone under the sand. X) Link to comment
reefer2
take ot the live rock and give it a dip in freshwater and when it comes out take a pic of it:) Link to comment
tinyreef
from the speed, habitat, and general description it sounds like a worm. a specific species id would require a pic and a marine biologist. Link to comment

cerickson
Sometimes, depending on species you can catch them in the middle of the night with a flashlight. Link to comment
