Blownpony Posted February 26, 2004 Share Posted February 26, 2004 I got an order from sea crop today, very pleased with it. Anyway I got speckled leather that has 2 little crabs hiding in it. They are a whitish brownish color with red dots. Trying to figure out if they are good or bad. Thanks for any help. Link to comment
birdman204 Posted February 27, 2004 Share Posted February 27, 2004 Depends. Generally most crabs are considered omnivores. If they are not considered reef safe, it may be because they eat some inverts, but because they also bulldoze, and knock stuff over to graze... Now if they are in the coral and "living" there, they are most likely using the coral as a host and not doing any harm to it. Watch the corals health over the next few days. Link to comment
Blownpony Posted February 27, 2004 Author Share Posted February 27, 2004 I put the new leather in the tank one crab left the speckled leather and went right to my toadstool. Now he is hanging out with it. I'll keep my eye on everything hopefully they will be alright. Thanks for the help. Link to comment
