jamesj525
Hi All, I just started my 5 gallon AGA MiniBow yesterday! I’m pretty stoked. Tomorrow I’ll be picking up a couple of clowns and maybe even a tang! JUST KIDDING!! No really, I’ve come back to the sport after 6 years of grad school and I’m really encouraged by the changes. I kept a 10 gallon reef tank for two years before school took me away. There was very little information back then and a lot of mistakes. I decided to get back into it when I figured out that I could keep a whole tank made up of only aqua-cultured life. I’m really excited about this idea. To that end, I’ve started by ordering 10lbs of aqua-cultured live rock and 5lbs of sand from Triton Marine (www.liverocks.com). I can’t say enough about these guys! It was very easy, their customer service is excellent and the rock looks great. Lots of thangys running around. Don’t hesitate to make your next purchase from these guys. Okay, I’ve attached a photo here but I’ve also posted a series of photos of my lighting retrofit (2X 13W PCs) and the rocks at the following links: http://www.wiggledog.com/reef/setup.html http://www.wiggledog.com/reef/day1.html Tank Specs: 5g AGA MiniBow 2X 13W PCs (retrofit to hood with parts from AHsupply.com) 10lbs Live Rock 5lbs Live Sand MiniJet 404 powerhead Whisper E HOB (probably will be replaced with a refugium) 50W Ebo Jager heater I plan to add only easy corals. Maybe a skunk clown if everything is cool 6 months from now! Of course, constructive comments are welcome. Thanks for the forum! Link to comment
