Refractometer Findings...

Hey all,

Some quick advice to beginners and more experienced reefkeepers who have not yet purchased a refractometer. I know this idea has been beaten to death, but my new refractometer has just arrived (EBay purchase $49) and I have to say I was quite amazed when I measure the salinity in my 7 gallon mini-bow. My deep-six hydrometer read 1.024. When I measured the same water with the new calibrated refractometer, it read 1.027. The actual salinity as read by the deep six had an error of 0.003. This difference may not seem like alot, but I think that in the long term, it would be best to have the salinity around 1.024-1.025. Just thought I would share that with all of those non-believers out there....
