Brooklyngal Posted February 15, 2011 Share Posted February 15, 2011 most dont live past a few months, since they slowly starve. they come in very thin, and usually sickly. most never take to frozen/prepared foods, or even live brine or mysis. they eat micro fauna in present in the sandbed, which usually are not present in large enough amounts to sustain them, even in vast systems. there are also reports of those who take frozen slowly wasting away, assumedly because of imbalenced nutrition. as for the lifespan of a healthy individual, I'd guess somewhere between 2-10 years, depending on its age when collected. possibly upwards of 15, but I'd guess between 5-12 is most likely.
