badmatt Posted February 24, 2004 Share Posted February 24, 2004 i want to convert my fw water tank to a coral tank is this list of equipment ok -10 gal as a sump -an AquaC urchin protein skimmer -2x55 watt power compacts -250 watt hqi MH -hagen standard in sump heater -36 pounds of LR -30 pounds of LS -1 visijet powerhead the return will be put dirctly above the reef back throght the over flow hitting te LR so thats why only i power head anything else i need like what type of fish? i would like to get a baby tang and grow him out for a 90 gallon my buddy is setting up what type of special coral for a 360 wats of light for a 25 gallon? matt the fiddler Posted February 25, 2004 Share Posted February 25, 2004 have you ever treated for ich- or used copper medications? if so you have pretty much voided any possibility of keepign a good reef tank.. with that tank...chances are your tank has copper residue in the silcone seal- that will kill all the inverts. fill it up with water anyways.. and let it sit for a week, and then test copper levels.. if you think there might be some chance you medicated the tank.
