exemd
I picked up a 10g hex on ebay and was wondering if its usable as a reef tank. I am not planning on anything too light hungry. Any reasonably priced lighting options available? Maybe some DIY action (I was thinking about the 65W floodlight from HD/Costco)? Please help. Thanks a lot, Eric Link to comment
TheCurriculum
exemd, Welcome to nano-reef and have fun while your here. Once you get started post some pics Any tank if setup properly can be used as a reef tank. Rule of thumb 5w to 8w minimum per gallon. so 65w over 10g gives you 6.5w per g With this you should be able to keep most softies. shrooms and zoo's etc... you will not see major growth. Search through the old post and look at lighting solutions if you have any more questions. Can't find the answer send out a post.
