Rmcm2424 Posted February 24, 2004 Share Posted February 24, 2004 I have the 24" 65w CSL smartlamp over my 20g and I'm really wanting to upgrade my lighting. I want between 6-10 wpg, I'm hoping, but what are some of the best options? DO I have to do a full retrofit to run the CSL powerquad off of my existing system? That wouldn't give the power I want, but would be a cheap solution if I could just plug n play the bulb. I'm looking at this retro kit at champion lighting 24" 175w MH & PC Retro kit I'm thinking either that one or the 250w retrokit for about 30 bucks more. What do you think? I'm thinking of converting it to open water and just hanging the fixture from some hooks if that kit will fit into my current fixture. I just think building a hood with the MH about 8-10 in. off the water would look a little silly and make my canopy about as tall as the tank itself. I'm really open to any suggestions as to what I should do with the lighting on this tank. Link to comment
