Builder Anthony
I sort of impulse bought this light system today.Do you think i can keep hard corals with it in a 5 gallon tank? evilc66
Color is going to be in the 10K range with so few blues, but it will grow coral. Coverage might be an issue, as I'm sure they are using tight-ish optics. The lamp will have to be mounted fairly high to cover the tank. Link to comment
Builder Anthony
Be able to grow stony corals? It says the color is 6500 and these are 1 watt leds. Thankyou. Link to comment
evilc66
If you read closer, it mentions that it has 15 LEDs total. 10 6500K cool whites, and 5 460nm blues. This is a fairly typical setup. It's a little low on blue, which is why I said that you would be looking at about a 10K color temp. Stoney corals is a bit of a broad term. Sps and lps are both stoney corals and have different lighting requirements. This lamp will support both, but you must understand the limitations of using a spotlight. I suggest you read the PAR38 link in my signature. Link to comment
