Reefer_Buddha
10k is the norm for spectrums for halide and doesnt have as much of a blue tint to it, thus you should use actinic supplementation. 20k does have a blue coloration to it and some say you can just use 20k w/o actinics, although i would use it anyway its supposed to be an all in one bulb. 567a
but wait there's more.....10k will have more par (look it up..) than a 20k bulb. Link to comment
jasontatro
Very true. The intensity of the 10k is greater than the 20k and as a result will give you better growth. Link to comment
aqua_aaron
do you need actinic supplementation w/ a 10K mh? i've seen tanks with only a 10K pendant over them. tanks aqua_aaron Link to comment

DSparks
So I'm hearing that the actinic is for visual appeal only, and not for the benefit of the corals, correct? Link to comment
Rmcm2424
That's my understanding as well. Link to comment
