danthenewreefman
Looks like about 6 would light my 75g perfectly? I just ordered 3 with 40degree optics. How high should they be mounted off of the water surface to provide decent coverage to the bottom of the tank? Link to comment
mrbigshot
they have to be high enough to keep the spray from the water from coming in contact with them. we need to know what type of corals you have. the more powerfull par38's (more leds) at 20 inches are good enough for most lps and any softy you want. if its sps they need to be higher in the tank or the bulbs lowered. if it were me i would have went with par 38's. danthenewreefman
That's why I only went for 3 to start with -- thinking I'll need another few no matter what size they are. I have no experience with par-anything bulbs and thought this would be a nice start and def not a waste in an array of Par bulbs. --- My tank is a 75g mixed SPS/LPS tank. SPS in top, LPS on the bottom. Link to comment
